Alarms

My alarm didn't ring
  • Make sure alarms are allowed: open Settings, then Apps, then Ring The Alarm, and turn Alarms on.
  • Check the alarm's switch is on in the app. A lit red lamp beside it means it is set.
  • Ring The Alarm uses real iOS alarms, so it rings on silent and in Focus, but turn the volume up so you can hear it.
How do I choose who wakes me?

Tap an alarm, then pick under Who Wakes You: Surprise Me (a different recording every morning), Yard Radio, a whole tape, or one track. Tap the play button next to any track to hear it first.

How does snooze work?

Tap 5 More Minutes on the alarm and it rings again five minutes later. You can switch snooze off for any alarm in its settings.

Tapes and purchases

What's on the tapes?
  • Rise an' Shine (Firm), included: Wake Up, Bwoy, Count to Three, Church, Hotel.
  • Last Warning (Harder), US$0.99: The Phone, Miss Beverley, Cane Field, Nine Months.
  • No Mercy, US$0.99: Rooster, The Belt, Four Mile. Grandpa Winston, strong language.

Every track can be played on the Alarms screen before you buy.

I bought a tape but it's locked

Open the Alarms screen (the person button at the bottom left) and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases follow your Apple Account to every iPhone you sign in to.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose Ring The Alarm.

Yard Radio

How does a radio alarm wake me?

No ring. If the app is open, the station fades up. If the app is closed, iOS can only play a sound built into the app, so you hear a radio tuning in and fading up; tap Stop and the live station takes over, fading up too.

The radio won't play

Yard Radio needs an internet connection. Stations sometimes go off air for a while; try another preset key.

Why does it want my location?

Only to show your local weather on the radio display. It's optional. See the privacy policy for exactly what is sent.
